Esther, is one of the 5 scrolls in the bible.
It tells the story of the Jewish holiday of Purim.

This hand-made paper cutting, describes the woman of the scroll, queen Esther, with many motifs from the scroll. 
( beautiful Esther herself, a rattler, "Haman's ears" pastries, a smiling and crying masks and a branch of myrtle).
The head line is cut as "Rollic" calligraphy, which reminds me the Persian writing, and says in Hebrew:
 
"The Jews had light and gladness and joy and honor."

May come as a single piece or as a part of the entire set.
The work is a 3 layer paper cutting of quill like paper on rice paper on a another quill like paper.
 
 
מגילת אסתר היא אחת מחמש המגילות בתנ"ך.
זהו סיפור חג הפורים.
עבודת יד זו, מתארת את אסתר המלכה עצמה, ומוטיבים רבים שולבו בעבודה זו מתוך המגילה (כגון יופיה של אסתר, אזני המן, רעשן, מסיכות, ענף הדס).
כותרת העבודה מתארת באותיות "רוליות", המזכירות לי את הסלסול באותיות הפרסיות, את המשפט:
 
"ליהודים הייתה אורה ושמחה וששון ויקר"

עבודה זו יכולה להיות כעבודה בפני עצמה או כחלק מתוך סדרת חמש המגילות כולה.
